I met a man who told me that life is a game
He told me to go and find my childhood again
I read a book of poems and they said the same
But I can’t find the secret and I’m going insane

I lay awake all night wondering why should it be
Every time I think I’ve found the key

Philosophers and bishops and professors and GPs
Psychologists and counsellors, economists, MPs

Innocence, experience, its always the same
Nobody ever wants to take the blame
You tell me you’ve got principles but that’s just a joke
One sniff of easy money and they go up in smoke
